Noah had a little dog named Biscuit. Biscuit was the color of warm toast, and he loved everything green. Green grass, green leaves, even Noah's green socks. Every night, Biscuit slept on Noah's bed, curled up like a fuzzy doughnut. But when the sky turned dark and rumbly, Biscuit's ears drooped. He did not like thunder at all. One evening, as the wind began to whoosh, Biscuit whimpered and hid under the covers. Noah gently pulled back the blanket and whispered, "It's okay, Biscuit. I'm right here."
— 1 —Boom! Crash! The thunder rolled like a big drum. Biscuit trembled and pressed his cold nose into Noah's hand. Noah had an idea. He grabbed his soft green flashlight and shone it on the wall. "Look, Biscuit! The thunder is just a grumpy giant stomping his feet. But we are safe inside our cozy cave." Noah made a little tent with his green blanket. "Come on, brave puppy. Let's hide in our green cave together." Biscuit wagged his tail just a tiny bit. He liked the green cave very much.
— 2 —Noah hugged Biscuit close. "When I feel scared, I take a deep breath and think of my favorite things. Let's try it. Breathe in... and out. Think of green grass and green apples and your green ball." Biscuit listened to Noah's soft voice. He took a little doggy breath. Then another. The thunder rumbled again, but Biscuit didn't hide. He stayed in Noah's lap, his tail giving a slow, brave wag. "You did it, Biscuit! You're so brave!" Noah cheered. Biscuit licked Noah's cheek. He felt proud and warm inside.
— 3 —Soon the thunder grew quieter and quieter, like a sleepy giant yawning. The rain tapped softly on the window. Noah yawned. Biscuit yawned too. They snuggled under the green blanket, Biscuit's head on Noah's chest. "Goodnight, brave Biscuit," Noah whispered. "Goodnight, Noah," Biscuit seemed to say with a little sigh. The storm had passed, and the moon peeked out from behind the clouds. Noah closed his eyes, feeling happy and safe. Biscuit closed his eyes too, dreaming of green fields and sunny days. And they both slept peacefully until morning.
— 4 —Goodnight, Noah ✨
